The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was developed for the US Navy and was first deployed in 1974. It is a carrier-capable fighter/interceptor with a max speed of Mach 2.2. The Tomcat was originally designed exclusively for air-to-air combat. After serving with operational squadrons, F-14A 161869 was transferred to the Naval Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) where it was painted in blue camouflage and served as an adversary aircraft. The aircraft was known as “Splinter.” A total of 712 F-14s were built.

 

These Drops were cut from 2 fuselage panels off F-14A Tomcat BuNo 161869. We referred to these panels as A and B when material from these panels was used for our tag run. These Drops are either Blue or Grey. 

 

All Air Drops come on 3.5" x 2.5" cards cut from .25" acrylic sheet and can be removed from the card.

 

Fulfillment is random. There are no returns on Air Drops.
