AD213 – Air Drops featuring fuselage skin cut from F-86L Sabre 51-6139. The North American Aviation F-86D/K/L Sabre (aka “Sabre Dog”) was an all-weather interceptor developed from the F-86 Sabre (a daytime fighter). The Sabre Dog first flew in 1949. The F-86D/K/L was the first aircraft designed around the new Mighty Mouse Folding Fin Aerial Rocket (FFAR), which was carried in a rocket tray under the nose of the Sabre Dog. Other major differences from the F-86 were a longer fuselage, more powerful engine, and a nose radome, which housed a weather radar.
